2009 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico TB, Tommaso Bussola, Veneto

2009 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico TB, Tommaso Bussola, Veneto

The nose of this Amarone, from an outstanding vintage, is so intense. It's full of dried, raisined fruit but still with freshness: there's a perfume of fresh strawberries and violets that really adds complexity. The palate has incredible density and richness of flavour, but what really stands out is the freshness and balance: you barely feel the alcohol level at all.

Tasting notes

A ripe, velvety red, with plush tannins tightly knit to the concentrated flavours of black cherry puree, raspberry ganache and orange bergamot, showing lots of baking spice and dried thyme accents. The long, lasting finish presents a muscular frame but remains supple, mouthwatering and minerally.
