2006 Barolo Lazzairasco, Guido Porro

2006 Barolo Lazzairasco, Guido Porro

Lazzairasco is a bigger wine, with more savoury mineral notes of smoke and blue fruit. On the palate it has a meaty richness and intensity, with ripe, chewy tannins and bags of potential. The vines are older here, giving more depth and power. The 2006 received a 92+ rating from Antonio Galloni, writing in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. I suspect one day soon Guido will realise the unbelievable value his wines offer and put his prices up accordingly!
