Tasted April 2023. 85% Merlot 15% Cabernet Franc. Lots of black, soft fruit with some brambly notes. Vanilla and cedar come through on the nose and palate which should integrate over time. There's good density and concentration here with the fresh fruit and an iron-y mineral note carrying it through to the long finish.
Tobacco, even a touch of tar on the opening moments, this is highly charged, intense cassis and bilberry fruits. Captures appellation signature, while also reflecting the intense spice and ripeness of the vintage. 8.5ha, sandy-clay.
Smoky, darker red and black fruits, leafy herbs, tobacco, and gravelly earth-like notes all emerge from the 2022 Château Plince, a medium to full-bodied, nicely balanced, textured Pomerol that comes from 8.5 hectares of vines in Pomerol. A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, It shines for its elegance and seamless style and should drink nicely with just a few years of bottle age.
Aromas of sweet cassis and toasty new oak introduce the 2022 Plince, a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy wine that concludes with a vanillin-inflected finish.
Very fresh flowers with berry and black truffle character on the nose, following through to a medium to full body with fine yet chewy tannins and a chalky, fresh finish. 85% merlot and 15% cabernet franc.
The 2022 Plince is dark, supple and quite engaging. Black cherry, plum, licorice, menthol, spice and leather all flesh out. The ripeness of the year is evident in the wine's slightly roasted profile, but this is an en primeur sample. It will be interesting to see how this turns out.
