Beaujolais 2018

There’s really nice juicy fruit, with plenty of grip here. This is nicely tannic: a very serious expression of Gamay.

Full of red fruits and perfumed notes, this vibrant yet delicate example of Chiroubles is a joy to drink.

Soft tannins and concentrated fruits from a high altitude (for Beaujolais!) plot. The wine is fresh and refined, bursting with raspberries and cassis but with spicy notes.

The vines in question are around 80 years old, lying high on sandy soil. Brimming with cassis and luscious red fruits as well as additional complexity thanks to the plot.

Incredibly perfumed and juicy, the palate here is saline and really long. This is so delicious: everything you want from a drinking wine. Brilliant.

Made from his oldest plots, dating back 90 to 120 years, this is a stunning wine from Guy. Textured, salty, and so refined, it’s a lesson on how elegant and finessed Gamay can be. Illuminating.

A bottling that pushes the boundaries of what high-quality Beaujolais can be: grapes spend an enormous seven months macerating in large clay amphorae, creating a textured, explosive wine that’s spectacularly delicious.

Cool and fresh on the nose, with mulberries and cool cherry, as well as a blood orange character. The palate is intense and textured, but with plenty of lively acidity, too. This is so beautifully judged, with a finish that lasts for minutes. An outstanding wine from Jean-Claude.
