Trying to sum up wine into a few different styles is a pretty tricky task. True, different wines bear similarities to one another, but trying to categorise these can be really difficult. Take Chardonnay, for example. You’d think one grape variety might fit into a single ‘style’ group. But try comparing Chablis and an oaky New World Chardonnay, and it’s like chalk and cheese.
