Grand Cellier d'Or is a blend of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinor Noir from vines around 45 years old on a chalky soil. The 2021 has a lovely clear crystalline character. Laurent described this as a lunar not a solar vintage and Vilmart wasn't effected much by the frosts. There is bright citrus fruit and white pepper with vibrancy and good tension. It has a long precise finish.
