Lower vigour than the Seadragon, here the family benefitted from being able to wait for harvest in 2022. They let it hang for an extra week, and the resulting wine has 40% stems included. It’s dark and opulent, but also very saline and savoury. Impressive.
The clays are a little shallower in the Windansea block, so the tannins are often firmer and thicker than on Seadragon. A hint of meaty reduction leads you into a palate that's savoury, complex and built to last, all plum, redcurrant and pomegranate flavours, with a sheen of 22% new wood and undertones of Asian spices. 2024-32
