2022 Lenswood Vineyard Chardonnay, Shaw & Smith, Adelaide Hills

Lenswood is one of the best regarded sub-regional spots in the Adelaide Hills, and Shaw and Smith purchased their vineyard here in 2011. It's higher and cooler than where they pick the M3 Chardonnay, and the wine is leaner and more linear in style, with lots of intensity on the mid-palate. There's an appealing perfume of stone fruits, cinnamon, sea spray and nougat. Green apple and a flinty minerality lead to a long, fresh, saline finish on the palate.
