2021 Barolo Bricco Boschis, Cavallotto

2021 Barolo Bricco Boschis, Cavallotto

A beautifully classic Barolo this year from the Bricco Boschis, showing some of the seriousness and focus of this great vintage. Iodine, violets and wild cherry lead on the nose, with supple grip of tannins framing the fruit. This has real direction and poise yet also beautiful and generous fresh aromatics.

Tasting notes

The 2021 Barolo Bricco Boschis is a deep, dense wine. Black cherry, plum, mocha, new leather, licorice and cloves are all amplified in this decidedly potent, strapping young Barolo. There's plenty of punch here, that much is evident. I can't wait to taste this from bottle.

Just mid ruby. A cloud of cherry and raspberry spiked with earthy, stony notes and a hint of white pepper. Compact palate with a core of sour-cherry and raspberry fruit firmly wrapped up in gravelly, long tannins. Needs much more time. Long but slow. A masterpiece in the making.
