2016 Chardonnay, Löwengang, Alois Lageder
Beautiful, complex and a lovely golden in colour this wine opens with green apple and pear, with accents of spice and honey. It has great concentration, roundness and depth, with some power but lots of tension and balance. A really complete wine with a more Burgundian character than some of Alois Lageder's other vintages, with oak ageing undertaken in old barriques. This finishes really fresh with a touch of their signature minerality. Really enjoyable now but built to age.
