2004 Barolo Bricco Boschis, Cavallotto, Piedmont

2004 Barolo Bricco Boschis, Cavallotto, Piedmont

The compact clay and blue marl of the Bricco Boschis vineyard is the base material for the magnificent wines of Cavallotto. The colour here is not that deep and there is the distinctive garnet hue of traditionally made Nebbiolo. The nose is open with fresh raspberries, spice and floral notes plus the tell-tale tar. There is lovely fruit on the palate which is ripe, quite broad and even a little plump. This is really good, long and very seductive. This again is very high class traditional winemaking. Lovely.
