Initially quite closed on the nose, I was expecting more dried fruit and spice from this warm vintage, but the nose is floral, with wild strawberry, orange and some cinnamon. Mouth-coating and extremely refined on the palate, with grippy tannin and balancing acidity. There are hints of flavours to come, with a background of Spanish ham and melted chocolate. One of the many wonders of Unico is how the history and style transcend vintages. This is a great and unique wine which never disappoints.
