2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc, Domaine du Clos des Papes

No oak is used in fermentation or élevage to maintain freshness, and all complexity here is just from the grapes. There’s ripe apple and pear, herbal notes and aniseed too. The finish is long and pure, with ginger spice developing. There’s lovely tension - it will bring joy over many years.
