Domaine du Clos des Papes

Three generations of the Avril family, all named Paul, have worked the land since 1896. Paul Vincent Avril, who runs the estate today, trained at top places such as Chateau Mouton Rothschild before returning to Clos des Papes. He’s known for particular methods, like low yields, no new oak and no filtering, all which contribute to his wine’s complexity. Their cellar is almost a cathedral to fine wine in its grandeur, and befitting of the legendary wines the Avrils continue to produce.
