The aroma of the Clos des Papes Blanc is reminiscent of the fruits in a Provençal marketstall; ripe peaches, pears, apricots and a refreshing citrus element. There is an enticing spicy note too, which adds a confit-like character. This particular châteauneuf blanc differs from many in that it employs all six of the legally-permitted white varieties. The wine is elegant and light on its feet, with lively acidity coming from the Picpoul and Bourboulenc components of the blend.
