This is a showcase in what the single variety of Syrah can do in these high altitude, wild climes of the Ventoux when steered through by such an exciting winemaker as Even Bakke. The vines are 75 years old and make a concentrated and sinewy wine with an attractively austere chewy grip. Although it’s just entered its drinking window, it will go on for many years more.
