2017 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros Côte Bouguerots, Domaine William Fèvre

Produced only by Fèvre, the Bougros Côte Bouguerots is restrained and reserved at the moment, and it’s the texture that gives a hint of its potential. Lovely mineral drive. Salinity on the finish makes your mouth water.

2017 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros Côte Bouguerots, Domaine William Fèvre
Domaine William Fèvre

William Fèvre started his eponymous domaine in 1957, buying the region’s premiers and grands crus when they were out of fashion. He established the domaine as one of Chablis’ most prized, only retiring in 1998. He has since sold the estate to Champagne Henriot, who put the talented Didier Séguier at the helm, formerly of Bouchard Pere et Fils. Oak use has been reduced, and no new barrels are used. Here’s Chablis for lovers of Côte de Beaune whites, crisp and steely with round flavour.
