100% whole-bunch lifts this village Pommard up a notch or two. It’s such a fragrant and appetising style, mineral with lacy tannins and the best we’ve seen from Joannes since he took over in 2019. It is a great entry point for one of Pommard’s most promising new voices.
Three plots blended, Rue au Port, La Vache, Trois Follots, only La Vache being vinified with stems making 30% overall. Paler red crimson. A lighter strawberry-raspberry fruit with a pleasing generosity right across the palate. The tannins are moderate and there is just enough acidity. Pleasing. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Oct 2024.
