2012 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru La Riotte, Domaine Taupenot-Merme
Made from vines with an average age of 55 years, this small and rarely seen 1er Cru lies just below the village, it produces classically spicy wines which scream Morey. This is a wonderful example with notes of tar and darker fruit, there is a savoury edge here - serious wine.
