2009 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts, Sylvain Cathiard

This is the "carte visite" of Domaine Sylvain Cathiard and the wine of which Monsieur Cathiard is perhaps most proud. The vines are extremely close to those of La Tache and de Montille's Christianne parcel. Darkly fragrant on the nose, this is beautifully rounded and pure on the palate, with hints of white flowers coming through. Feels almost approachable at this young stage due to the finesse and balance there is in every element. Stunning.
