2019 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge, Cru Classé Pessac-Léognan

2019 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge, Cru Classé Pessac-Léognan

The Graves region is too often overlooked. which has one key benefit for consumers: some of the best value in Bordeaux is to be found here. And this is clear at one of the appellation’s most consistent performers, Domaine de Chevalier is something of a curiosity in Bordeaux. Its name, preceded by Domaine not Château, gives a hint to its more Burgundian style: this is claret in its most elegant, finessed form.

Tasting notes

The chocolate, walnut, dark-fruit and stone character is attractive. It’s full-bodied and very tight and linear with chewy yet polished tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Lots of intensity and complexity here, as always.
