2013 Château Pibran, Cru Bourgeois Pauillac

2013 Château Pibran, Cru Bourgeois Pauillac

Situated in the heart of Pauillac, next to Pontet-Canet, and under the same ownership as Pichon-Longueville (AXA Millésimes) there’s little doubt this cru bourgeois property has the right ingredients to produce superb claret. So it is with the 2013 release, with strict selection only a quarter of the crop made the cut for the grand vin and with a third of the vines tended following organic principles the yields are historically low. The resulting wine melds dark brambly fruit, softer red berries and toasty mocha notes with grippy tannins hold everything together.
