2009 Château du Tertre, Cru Classé Margaux

2009 Château du Tertre, Cru Classé Margaux

Another strong wine from the commune. The nose is light and fragrant, more dark fruits than red. The palate is interesting in that it seems a little more restrained and more commune-led than vintage-influenced. The fruit is intense, but reined in. This is medium bodied and does not give as bold a statement as some of the other Margaux wines - it definitely has more elegance. It is easy to like this, with its understated class and abundant, sweet tannins. A classic example of Margaux from an outstanding vintage. It is a winning combination.
