Clos Fourtet
Clos Fourtet began life as a fortified camp in the Middle Ages, built to protect the village of St-Emilion. Now it is a fine example of top quality Right Bank Bordeaux and is an estate with an ever growing reputation. Its vines sit in a 20 hectare single vineyard plot across the revered limestone plateau and neighbouring the hugely popular Château Canon. It is owned by Philippe and Matthieu Cuvelier, who also own Château Poujeaux. The Cuveliers are meticulous in their care of the estate, with growing use of organic and biodynamic methods to ensure the longevity of the vines for future generations.
