Northern Rhône Whites

In organic conversion this wine is a taut, saline style of Condrieu that beautifully blends opulence with freshness and energy. The oak influence is slightly drying but helps to structure the wine. Still in its early stages, it iss more focused and straight-edged than the classic cuvée.

Certified Organic the principal Condrieu from Domaine Georges Vernay comes from 50+ year-old Viognier vines in the 'Sainte Agathe' and 'La Caille' climats and is well-known as a benchmark classic of the appellation. This superb Condrieu has subtle scents and flavours of white peaches, honeysuckle, lychees and grilled nuts, a persistent palate with refreshing acidity.

With crisp, herbaceous notes and zesty lemon on the nose. The Kamaka Viognier shows blossom and violet notes in the background too with ripe acidity and a mineral core that all come together very nicely.

A clean, focused Viognier offering tropical apricot, peach and honeyed citrus fruits, spice. Medium to full-bodied, its fresh, and beautifully balanced on the palate, with integrated acidity and a terrific finish.

This wine has the depth and features concentrated layers of plush, fleshy apricot, peach and mango that pulse with saline-laced acidity.

A real textbook Condrieu that avoids any sense of excess heaviness. Medium gold-hued with a gorgeous nose of peach, beautiful orange zest, marmalade, white flowers, and quince. Medium to full-bodied, it has a pure, elegant mouthfeel, with a fresh finish that pulls you back for more.

From one of the great vineyards of Condrieu, the Côteau de Chéry is seductive with honeyed orange, toasted bread, white flowers with subtle tropical notes and long minerality on the palate. Medium to full-bodied, with balanced acidity and a texted long finish.

Vinified in 225-litre casks, which up to 25% is new, the Coteau de Vernon is jewel in the Vernay crown and, to many observers, the finest Condrieu bar none. The celebrated 'Coteau de Vernon' hails from a steeply-terraced, single vineyard in the centre of the appellation. Showing a bouquet of wild flowers and white orchard fruit, with a complex palate of peaches, nuts, figs and minerals with an ethereal dry finish – this is a wine of true terroir. Drinks well now but will keep for up to 20 years in all but the lighter vintages.
