The lowliest of French classifications, it is true that much Vin de France is mass-produced, and barely worth a second glance. However, this classification can be used by dynamic winemakers who are searching to push boundaries, whether by using grape varieties that are otherwise disallowed, by exploring new and exciting areas, or even by making multi-regional blends. What is key with Vin de France is knowing your producer.
