Northern Rhône

At Syrah’s northernmost limit, it is on the steep slopes of the valley carved by the Rhone’s power that this famous grape reaches its pinnacle. Mind-blowingly complex, ageworthy wines emanate from the legendary hills of Hermitage and Côte Rôtie, whilst hidden and undervalued gems can be sought from St Joseph, Cornas and Crozes-Hermitage. Not purely a Syrah story, these steep hillsides craft whites of a variety of styles, from Viognier’s floral beauty to Marsanne and Roussanne’s long-lived power.
