Named after the road where Arianna's winery is located, this wine is made up of 70% Frappato and 30% Nero D'Avola, this red is aged exclusively in cement, which enables the purity of the fruit to shine through in the glass. Bright in its profile, a wine that Arianna is known for due to its instant attractiveness and drinkability. Wild strawberries, raspberries, red cherries and cranberries combine with a herbal character and clove spice. The tannins are so fine grained and the core is silky and finishes with a beautiful freshness.

Named after the road where Arianna's winery is located, this wine is made up of roughly half Zibibbo and Albanello. Made biodynamically and with a non-inteventionist approach, this white displays orange blossom, jasmine and lychee notes as well as citrus peel aromas. Acidity is juicy and the palate has an attractive silkiness.

Arianna's dream was to make the Frappato, a wine that tastes like the land I work'. 100% Frappato, the wine spends 14 months in large Slavonian oak which doesn't impart oak but a breadth and openness. Raspberries,wild strawberries, pomegranate and red plums are supported by dry red fruits and smoke.

Wow. What purity and focus, and also such silky tannins. This is a brilliant red. Notes of pomegranate and rose petal, and lots of blood orange add to the core of red fruit. The tannins are talc-like, and there’s such focus on the palate. This is outstanding.

2019 Etna Rosso, Barone di Villagrande, Sicily Red | Still | 13%

The owner and winemaker, Marco Nicolosi uses a mix of 80% Nerello Mascalese and 20% Nerello Cappuccio and Nerello Mantellato. A beautiful Etna red that delivers rose petal, wild strawberries and crushed raspberries on the nose. There are layers of savoury and sweet spice and the tannins are fine grained and very well managed. Very accessible now but will almost certainly develop more complexity.

2020 Etna Bianco, Barone di Villagrande White | Still | 13%

The owner and winemaker, Marco Nicolosi has produced a stunning wine in 2020. 90% Carricante and 10% idigenous white grapes, this white has an energising acidity and freshness thanks to the vine's elevation at 700 metres. White peach, fresh apricot and crushed shells combine with a steely profile. The palate is saline and the acidity is crisp.

2018 Contrada Villagrande, Etna Bianco Superiore, Barone di Villagrande, Sicily White | Still | 13%

Contrada is the estate's 'Cru' and is made up of 90% Carricante and 10% indigenous white grapes. The wine spends 12 months in large oak and a year in bottle. Yellow stonefruits combine with honey and pink grapefruit. There is a saltiness and steely character on the palate, yet there is a concentration and density with a long length

This exceptional wine comes from an ancient vineyard in the Sciaranuova district, on the northern slope of Mount Etna. The single vineyard Pirrera is an attractive mix of red and black berry fruits, combined with liquorice spice, garrigue and salty flavours. The tannins are chalky and well integrated. Very long length and precision.

Predominately Nerello Mascalese, the grapes are sourced from the northern slopes of Etna and have great concentration and energy that can be partially attributed to their age (over 50 year old vines) In its 6th vintage, this wine is getting better and taking on more precision. Expect bright red berry fruits, ripe cherries and wild flowers. The acidity is zesty and the palate is silky and saline. There is a herbal and savoury core and the tannins are fine grained.

Made predominately of Carricante and a 1/3 and grapes being sourced from Contrada Arcurìa, Passopisciaro on the northern slopes of Mount Etna. The altitude of 600 metres as well as the complex volcanic soils help the wine achieve its mineral and vibrant palate. White, fleshy stonefruits are supported by white pepper spice and orange blossom notes. Citrus peel, fresh mango and salty notes continue on the finish for a long time.

This rosato although beautiful and showing great purity currently, this wine has always aged beyond expectations and therefore marking it way above its peers. Orange blossom, pink grapefruit, and lemon citrus profile combine with a steeliness and saltiness on the palate. There is a restrained concentration that definess this wine.
