Rhône: New Releases

This is a blend of 15 different parcels around Cornas. It is so stylish and silky-smooth in 2019. This is wonderfully refined Syrah that still retains plenty of personality. Its fine-grained tannins are the mark of its excellent quality of fruit.

Pur Noir is only ever a single parcel, and only ever made in the best years. The parcel changes each time, depending on Stéphane’s preference. In 2019 it is drawn from Eygats, and only three barrels were made. Complex and focused, with a tense energy within. Floral and spiced on the finish.

This is a superb single variety expression from Stéphane Robert, in whose hands the whites of the Northern Rhône take on a precision and elegance uncommonly found.

This comes from a single parcel of very old Marsanne vines in the heart of the village. Incredible focus, balanced body, and a long and rewarding finish. Worth ageing for a while to admire where it goes.

A grippy and savoury wine from one of the masters of white wine in the region. It has drive, pithy texture, and a mouthwatering finish. Amazing complexity for the price.

This is a blend of fruit from 100-year-old Marsanne vines with 40-50 year old Roussanne vines. Salty, textured, complex, mineral, and exciting.

This comes from vines near Tournon, facing Hermitage. It has a pungent dark fruit fragrance, with a lifted, spiced finish. A great value red from this impressive domaine.

This comes from three parcels of 100-year-old vines in Champelrose, Eygats, and Combe. It is intense but still so elegant on the nose. The palate has abundant, structural tannins that frame the deep red fruit. Savoury and extremely long, this should cellar well.
