2023 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes, Jean-Marc Pillot

2023 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes, Jean-Marc Pillot

New release

Les Chenevottes has slightly deeper soils than some neighbouring vineyards, and the 70-year-old vines, with their deep roots, have endured the extreme summer heat of recent years in relative comfort. The wine is taut and driven yet there’s a supple energy to the fruit, and a floral, citrus, and salty twist on the nose. It shows excellent control and delicious texture.

Tasting notes

Antonin likes to drink this young because it has fruit and salinity. Lifted fruit, even a peach or apricot, with underlying stones. Quite generous in style but with the underlying salinity, and length. Drink from 2027-2031. Tasted Oct 2024.
