1988 Sercial Frasqueira, Barbeito
This is one of Barbeito’s treasures and we have only a handful of bottles available. Frasqueira Madeira spends the longest time maturing in cask. This Sercial has a distinct style, being full bodied with more evolved flavours and aromas as a consequence of its long ageing. Only 300 half-litre bottles of this classic Barbeito Sercial were filled.
Tasting Note: Compellingly complex with a wonderful array of fig, caramel, almond and herbal notes. A mouth-filling texture and concentration. Depth, finesse and a long and astonishingly dry finish.
Frasqueiras are generally at their best with very simple dishes or just enjoyed on their own.
