A notable vintage for Dow's. Discreet aromas emerge from the glass, gently floral and with little hint of the richness to come. The palate shows great intensity, generous and mouthfilling with characters of mulberry, sloe and damson and a certain peppery quality to the tannins. Dry in nature, little obscures the purity of the palate. Dow's tends to show complex, savoury elements even in its youth and a certain smoky nature seems to linger in this very fine example.
