2003 Quinta do Vesuvio principally comprises Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, both of which fair well in hot weather. Though the aromas are discreet, scented and distinctly floral, the palate reveals a bold style, showing great intensity, deep, dark fruits and almost bitter chocolate nuances to the fore. A mouthfilling style with plenty of substance and structure to boot. There is a distinctive peppery quality allied to rich, concentrated fruit here. Impressive in terms of stature, style and balance. Powerful and tightly knit.
