Acquired by the Fladgate partnership (also responsible for Taylor, Fonseca and Delaforce) in September 2001, this is Croft’s first declaration since its outstanding 1994. Croft is one of the oldest houses in the region (established in 1678), and the core of its wines come from the historic Roeda vineyards which are famed for their freshness of flavours. This wine is lovely and pure with soft violet aromas. It is rich but concentrates on harmony and finesse and can be classified as a real purist’s vintage port. Very classy indeed.
