Just 12.5% alcohol from this parcel, next to Chris Alheit's Nautical Dawn. 2022 was a brilliant vintage here, and this has so much yellow fruit and pith, and also a very long and intense finish. So lively, but with real gravitas.
Granietsteen comes from ocean-influenced vineyards close to False Bay, planted on the decomposed granite soils that are part of its name. Fermented and aged in concrete eggs, it's a spicy, pear and yellow apple-fruited Chenin Blanc with lots of underlying minerality and zip and the intensity and concentration of its old-vine source. 2023-28
