The 2016 Epilogue from Boschkloof is a wonderful expression of Syrah. The nose is silky and fine, with fresh violets, cherries, tapenade and sea spray jumping for the glass. The palate is remarkable, with beautiful lift and silky tannins, and a powerful core of fruit. It somehow manages to have huge volume in the mouth, but with a sense of weightlessness. A simply stunning wine.

Tasting notes

“I’m making this for Syrah fanatics”, says Reenen Borman. Lucky them is all I can say, because this is another stunning release from a brilliant young winemaker. Intense, granitic and spicy, with lovely lavender and garrigue aromas, layers of dark, inky fruit, stylish oak and amazing length. What more do you want from a Syrah?
