2014 Pofadder, Sadie Family, Swartland
The vines that produce the fruit for this Cinsault cuvée are well over fifty years old, and with whole bunch fermentation, carbonic maceration and a long skin-contact ensures a wine that somehow manages to be elegant and refined yet with depth and real complexity: red cherries, cardamom and other spices jump from the glass. This is very ageworthy, and very impressive.
