2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, Dyer Vineyards, Diamond Mountain District, Napa Valley

2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, Dyer Vineyards, Diamond Mountain District, Napa Valley

Exclusive to Lay & Wheeler

Dyer Vineyards remains incredibly under the radar, but Dawnine Dyer has been producing brilliant Cabernet from this tiny 2.3 acre vineyard for over 20 years, following a successful career starting in 1974 with Robert Mondavi, before pioneering the Chandon project in Calfornia. Production from this Diamond Mountain site, nestled in the forest, is less than 300 cases each year. The wine this vintage is 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot which Dawnine and husband Bill unusually co-ferment. This is a wine for those with a more classical palate, with medium-body and tons of savoury character alongside dried rose petal, mineral notes and bright black fruit.
