The Skinners focus on Rhone varieties in an unusual part of California, El Dorado County (beyond Sacramento, on the way to Lake Tahoe). It was on the way home from a Lake trip that the family discovered the potential of these high altitude vineyards. Their Grenache Blanc is picked early to further encourage a fresh, zesty style. The wine has a pithy texture and bright citrus acidity alongside some riper peach and apricot fruit.
