Promontory is a secluded vineyards in the mountains, acquired by the Harlan family after a chance encounter. The wild, isolated land is reflected in the wine, which has pure, black fruit and lots of dried wild herbs. That's layered with mineral, stony aromas and textures, and fine, almost chalky tannins. The 2019 has beautiful lifted aromatics, and there's a seriousness to the structure compared to the more exuberant 2018.
