2023 Angel Flower Pinot Noir, Pyramid Valley 'Botanical Collection', Canterbury

Delicate, floral, and pretty with notes of pomegranate, redcurrant, and wild rose petals. Fine mountain herbs, wet chalk, and green olive tapenade too. Superb calcareous energy and linear tension on the palate while remaining weightless, agile, and fresh. A wine of crystalline purity, there is an explosion of sour cherry, rhubarb, and crushed stone on the finish, yet remaining perfectly elegant and focused. Subtle cold tea, exotic spices, and fine, papery tannin notes on the finish.
