2023 Earth Smoke Pinot Noir, Pyramid Valley 'Botanical Collection', Canterbury

Brooding, complex, and earthy with a waft of wild strawberries, tart cherries, and dried porcini mushrooms. Exotic spice, star anise, and a delicate touch of red cherry pulp on the palate. Beautiful vertical build and active tension, while remaining incredibly fresh. A wine of great, savoury purity, there is a mouth-filling wave of chalky, sapid red fruits on the finish, yet remaining perfectly balanced and mineral-focused.
