2010 Sun and Moon Pinot Noir, Seresin Estate, Marlborough

2010 was a fantastic vintage for Pinot Noir in Marlborough, and in NZ generally in fact. The wines are concentrated and dense, with very clean pure fruit flavours. Sun and Moon is the pinnacle of Seresin Estate’s Pinot production, made only in exceptional vintages from a small block of the best parcel of vines on a ridge of clay soils at altitude. Entirely hand harvested and vinified traditionally using wild yeasts and a long maceration period followed by 17 months maturation in French oak barriques before bottling with no fining or filtration which lends a Burgundian accent to this magnificent Pinot Noir.
