This far belies its position in the Giant Steps range, and has all the character and length of the single vineyard bottlings. It's made from fruit from across the Yarra, with 50% coming from the upper Yarra ranges. Their winemaker Melanie Chester, for whom 2022 was the inaugural vintage, makes this Chardonnay is a classic way, whole bunch pressing to puncheons, a small proportion of which are new. They stir the lees towards the end of fermentation to build texture, and leave to mature in barrel until October.
