2021 Pinot Noir, William Downie, Gippsland
Gippsland is a massive area geographically, with very few vineyards. Bill Downie is native to the area, and spent his formative winemaking years in Burgundy and at nearby Bass Phillip. The Gippsland Pinot Noir has a lovely soft, silky texture, with juicy red fruit initially, and more aromatic, woody herbs towards the finish. Ideally served very lightly chilled.
