An Australian icon, and seriously impressive in the concentrated 2019 vintage. Surprisingly fragrant and elegant, the Henschke's 100 year old plus vines have clearly dealt well with the sweltering vintage conditions. There's fine, silky tannins, and loads of complexity. Peppercorn, dried woody herbs, star anise, graphite, and rose petals sit above a core of dense black cherry and plum fruit. An incredibly long finish with fine, silky fruit and spice.
