2016 Hill of Grace, Henschke, Eden Valley

2016 Hill of Grace, Henschke, Eden Valley

One of the world’s greatest vineyards, from the vines that lie next to the Gnadenberg Lutheran Church. These centenarian vines are planted on red-brown earth over a deep silty loam, and craft arguably Australia’s greatest red. The nose is reticent at first, but on the palate comes remarkable intensity, finesse, and tons of minerality. The finish lasts for minutes and minutes: this is astonishingly well balanced. Just so, so long. Spectacular.
