2014 Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon, Penfolds, South Australia

2014 Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon, Penfolds, South Australia

The nose is almost Pauillac, such is its power and intensity. On the palate blood orange and blackcurrants, alongside muscular but very fine tannins. Although it’s 100% new oak, you don’t feel it at all; it’s the purity and intensity that shows most of all. This is long and very mineral. A cerebral wine, and surely as good as Aussie Cab can get?
