From a parcel located on the southwest corner of Spring Farm, it is a block that always gives wines of tension, delicacy and focus. Now just over 10 years in age, it shows a little lime pickle, honey, and ginger yet with so much life and energy. Wonderfully complex and persistent on the palate, there is a salinity and crystalline focus here.

The 2013 Spring Farm Block 114 Riesling is sourced from vines planted in 1977, at an elevation of 453 meters above sea level. On the nose, the wine is toasty and spiced, like marmalade on cold buttered toast. In the mouth, the wine is complex and taut, with a flavor spectrum that covers exotic spice, roasted fruits, tatami/straw, cold tea and patisserie things. It is sensational, all focus and precision, with grace and effortlessness. What an incredible wine.
Released at a decade old. Supple, soft, succulent and lively. It's got a lot going for it. A very zesty, almost sparkling tang to acidity set under marzipan, truffle, brown lime and dried apple fruits. The perfume is similarly set – evocative, rich, and bright. While the wine feels ostensibly mellow, vigour comes from acidity, all briny and uplifting. The wine delivers great energy despite its mature characters, and overall, well, stellar in its drinking. Good stuff, Barry family.
