2010 Bin 150 Marananga Shiraz, Penfolds, South Australia

Only the third release of this wine from a unique area in the Barossa valley, this is a subtle and complex Shiraz in a different style from the Bin 28. Darkly fragrant on the nose, with notes of black coffee, soft berry fruit and a touch of oak spice. The palate is glossy, with a touch of black pepper and a deeply concentrated core of pure damson and mulberry fruit, framed by fine, taut tannins. The finish is long and attractive, with a lingering hint of vanilla oak.
